A full-scope 45' x 100' metal building near Chillicothe, Texas. The crew poured the concrete slab, erected the steel frame, and installed wall panels, roofing, and trim — delivering a complete, weather-tight structure built for the open Texas plains.
Scope of Work
- Concrete slab
- Steel framing & panels
- Metal roof system
- Doors & trim

How This Project Came Together
At 45' x 100', this Chillicothe building covers roughly 4,500 square feet, carried from bare ground through concrete slab, steel frame, wall panels, roofing, and trim as one full-scope build. The finished structure was built to stand up to the wind and heat that come with an open site on the Texas plains around Chillicothe.
The crew started with the concrete slab, giving it time to cure before columns and steel framing went up across the full 45' x 100' span. Wall panels, a metal roof system, and doors and trim followed the frame, closing the building in and turning bare steel into a finished, enclosed structure.
Challenge
A building this size can't move from slab to steel on a rushed timeline — steel erected over a slab that hasn't cured enough won't hold plumb, and a 4,500-square-foot open span gives crosswind plenty of surface to push against while columns and trusses are still standing unbraced. Chillicothe's open plains offer little in the way of windbreaks, so exposure during erection is a real factor on a footprint this large.
Solution
The crew held the slab through its cure window before setting the first column, then erected the steel frame in sequence — columns, trusses, purlins — bracing sections as they went rather than leaving long spans of unbraced steel standing overnight. Wall panels and the roof system went on once the frame was fully braced and square, closing the building in from a stable structure.
Result
The finished building spans the full 45' x 100' footprint as one enclosed, weather-tight structure — slab, steel, panels, roofing, and trim delivered as a single build rather than stages patched together after the fact. Set on open ground outside Chillicothe, it's built to handle the wind and heat that come with that kind of exposed site.
