A concrete driveway and street approach for a residential property in Altus, Oklahoma. The crew graded the run from the road up to the shop, set forms and steel reinforcement across the full drive, and poured a clean, durable surface connecting the street to the building.
Scope of Work
- Grading & base prep
- Forming to the drive layout
- Steel reinforcement
- Driveway & approach pour

How This Project Came Together
This Altus property needed a real concrete drive running from the street all the way up to the shop building, replacing a dirt approach that turned to mud and ruts with every rain. The scope covered both the driveway itself and the approach where it meets the road — two sections that have to work together as one continuous surface.
The crew graded and shaped the full run first, then set forms from the street edge up to the shop's existing apron and laid steel reinforcement in a continuous grid across the drive. The approach was formed to meet the road cleanly, and the pour carried one consistent surface from the pavement edge to the building.
Challenge
An approach has to land at the road's existing elevation and the drive has to land at the shop's existing slab — two fixed points the new concrete can't move. Everything between them has to hold a drivable grade that sheds water off the slab instead of ponding against the building or the street, and the transition at each end has to be smooth enough to drive daily without a bump.
Solution
The crew pulled grades off both fixed ends before setting a single form, working the fall between the road and the shop so the drive drains along its length rather than trapping water mid-run. Reinforcement ran continuously through the drive and approach so the two sections behave as one slab under vehicle loads instead of separating at the joint.
Result
The property now has a clean, reinforced concrete route from the street to the shop door — no more dirt approach, no more ruts. The drive meets the road and the building at exactly the right heights, drains the way it should, and is built to carry trucks and trailers for years of daily use.
