A 30' x 100' concrete foundation for a storage building in Childress, Texas. The long, narrow pad was graded and formed beside the property's existing units, reinforcement was set across the full footprint, and the slab was poured and finished level — ready for the next row of storage to go up.
Scope of Work
- Site grading
- Forming the 30' x 100' footprint
- Reinforcement layout
- Continuous slab pour

How This Project Came Together
This Childress storage facility was expanding, and the new row needed a 30' x 100' foundation poured in the working lane beside buildings already full of customers' belongings. The pad had to match the existing rows' alignment and spacing so the finished facility reads as one property, not an addition squeezed in at an angle.
The crew graded and formed the long footprint parallel to the existing units, set reinforcement across all 3,000 square feet, and poured the slab as one continuous placement — mixer trucks staged in the drive lane, placement moving down the pad's length while finishers worked close behind.
Challenge
A 30' x 100' pad is a long pour: by the time fresh concrete is going in at one end, the far end has been sitting the better part of the placement, and in Texas heat that gap is enough for the leading edge to stiffen before it's finished. The lane between existing buildings also left limited room to stage trucks and move equipment without blocking the facility's working drive aisles.
Solution
The crew ran the pour down the pad's length in a steady sequence, keeping the finishing crew tight behind placement so no section sat unworked, and staged trucks to cycle through the drive lane without shutting down access to the existing units. Alignment was pulled off the existing rows so the new pad sits square with the buildings beside it.
Result
The facility got a level, continuous 30' x 100' slab set square to its existing rows — poured, finished, and cured without disrupting the storage business operating a truck-width away. The pad is ready for the new building's steel to go up in line with the rest of the property.
