A concrete pool deck for a home in El Dorado, Oklahoma. The deck was formed around the newly set fiberglass pool and its coping, reinforcement was placed, and the surface was poured and finished to wrap the pool and tie into the home's covered patio — one continuous outdoor surface built for summer.
Scope of Work
- Layout around the pool & coping
- Forming & reinforcement
- Deck pour
- Finished surface tied to the patio

How This Project Came Together
This El Dorado home had a brand-new fiberglass pool set in the ground behind the house — and bare dirt everywhere around it. The project wrapped the pool in a full concrete deck, poured up to the pool's coping on every side and carried back to meet the home's covered patio, so the pool, deck, and house work as one connected space.
The crew formed the deck around the pool's curved shell, following its shape rather than boxing it in with straight lines, and set reinforcement across the full surface. The pour worked around the pool's entire perimeter, screeded to fall away from the water, and the finish was carried back to the covered patio's existing slab line.
Challenge
A fiberglass pool is a fixed, curved object the deck has to meet exactly — the concrete must come up to the coping at a consistent height around a shape with no straight edges, without ever pushing against the shell. The deck also has to slope away from the pool on every side so splash-out and rain drain off the deck instead of running back into the water or pooling where people walk.
Solution
The crew set grades off the pool's coping all the way around, forming the deck to follow the shell's curves and holding a consistent fall away from the water at every point of the perimeter. The pour was placed and worked in a sequence around the pool so the deck finished as one continuous surface rather than segments meeting at the curves.
Result
The pool now sits in a full wraparound deck that drains away from the water on every side and flows straight onto the home's covered patio — one clean, continuous surface from the back door to the water's edge. The dirt around a new pool became the finished outdoor centerpiece of the property.
